About

I’m a trauma-informed, lyrical yoga nidra teacher...

...for grounded humans who want to embrace their body’s ever-changing needs, so they can unapologetically honor, trust, & co-exist with their inner + outer world(s).

I started out as a vinyasa flow yoga teacher, cheering my students to “find what feels good”, like Adriene. I would tell my students to listen to their bodies and make the practice their own.

This has always been my biggest wish for everyone that came to my classes: to start listening to their bodies, because our bodies hold so much wisdom.

But a tough pill to swallow, for me, was realizing that I cannot create conditions in which my students could listen to their bodies — I can only simply create a practice I find supportive, and then show it to them, crossing my fingers they find it supportive as well.

I couldn’t find a way to share my yoga practice so that it ACTUALLY empowers humans to trust themselves and their bodies, rely on their intuition as their ultimate authority, and to learn how to decode what the body is communicating.

So if that’s the way it’s gotta be then that’s the way it is.

After the existential crisis on my yoga teaching journey, I now come back stronger than a 90s trend with: Trauma informed lyrical yoga nidra 🎉

Imagine if just 30 minutes could turn your entire day around…

In yoga nidra, time slows down to match your pace so you can not only listen to the body but also decode what the body is trying to communicate.

Yoga nidra is a space where for 30 (ish) minutes, you don’t have to make decisions for other people & you don’t have to be a space holder. You get to be energetically + physically held in a space that is only for you and your body. And you can exist here in any way you want – doing nothing is EVERYTHING here. ✨

Trauma-informed may sound both buzzword-y and confusing at the same time, but the basic premise of this work is recognizing the prevalence and impact of trauma. It means having skills and tools in recognizing that trauma is all around us (side note: also recognizing that not everything is trauma) & committing to practices that are reducing harm and promoting internal safety + collective healing.

It does not mean I address or respond to trauma in any form! Yoga is NOT a substitute for therapy!

Statement of value

I acknowledge the fact that yoga is a luxury and we cannot repair the systemic errors with spirituality, as it is only a bandage for much bigger issues that are beyond my comprehension.

I am an active supporter of “Yoni shakti: the movement” — the campaign founded by my dear teacher Uma Dinsmore-Tuli with a goal to end the Abuse of Women in Yoga, and Reclaim Yoga as a Tool for Planetary Healing and Justice. (Visit their website to learn more and download the empowerment kit!)

I am a proud supporter of Mačja Hiša, a sanctuary for homeless cats in Slovenia.

I am committed to ongoing education around anti-racism, diversity, equality, and inclusion. I acknowledge I am pretty effin’ privileged, I have my own filters and biases and as such will probably cause harm. That being said, I am ALWAYS open to conversation and devoting my resources into supporting + honoring you in any way you find comfortable.

I am a fearless advocate for mental health! I encourage you to seek professional support and do not rely only on spirituality, insta-therapy and self-help spaces if your symptoms are making it hard to function.

Last but not least–I wholeheartedly believe the future is trauma-informed, and am committed to ongoing learning about trauma-informed care.
